Family Camping!!!

WARNING: Picture heavy post!

We loaded up two cars and headed south for a family camping weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. It was PERFECT…beautiful weather, wonderful company and no cell phone coverage!! We got to the park before our site was ready so we first enjoyed lunch by the "lake".

Can you see little Miss Mia checking herself out in Tia's sunglasses?IMG_1512_edited-1

IMG_1513_edited-1Mia forgot she wasn't in her swimsuit when checking out the fish so the pants had to go. Little did we know she would continue this trend for the rest of the day (our little nudist at heart).IMG_1515_edited-1

See, diaper butt in the water again.

IMG_1519_edited-1

Doesn't she just look like trouble?!?!

These two were so excited to be freed from the car to check out the smells around our site.

Mia was obsessed with the tent. She was running laps as soon as we got it up.

Double trouble!

IMG_1546_edited-1

I'm not sure why Mia, with her pantless legs and dirty feet, was up on the table in the middle of the dinner fixings but she was.

Lillian was fascinated by the fire.

"Attempting" naptime. It didn't happen!

IMG_1551_edited-1

Mom's super fancy birthday dinner…brats over the fire with a  side of potato chips followed by the finest s'mores we could make for her!!

Do you see the blur falling into the tent? Imagine this every five minutes and you would understand our camping trip. Mia could barely climb over the wall into the tent but that didn't stop her from making sure her sleeping bag was still ready for bed (often). She also used this as an excuse to ditch her shoes. Many times through the afternoon and evening I found her wandering around sans shoes. When asked what happened to her shoes, she would respond,"Oh, yeah yeah, by da tent." Sometimes she would go retrieve them but most times she'd just wander away like she didn't hear me.

She claimed her chair next to her Bedste with her blanket.

Mia was licking up her ketchup without the brat. Crazy girl!

She was finally winding down as the sun started to set.

IMG_1576_edited-1

Who wouldn't wake to sleep with this sweet girl nestled in arms?!?!

IMG_1579_edited-1

Mia was so cute waking up in her sleeping bag next to her tent buddy Bedste!

Lillian struggles to understand how to crawl in her footie sleepers. She likes the sleepers with snaps because her little legs can break free.

IMG_1587_edited-1

At it again with the in and out of the tent game!

IMG_1594_edited-1

The rest of us slept in a tent but the Dunbars camped in style!

This little crawler just wanted to be on the move, a tough thing at a campsite so we rigged up a little crawling area for her to be free.

This was half of our breakfast. The interchangeable pan handle has a high learning curve, too high for me to master when it came to cooking the eggs. Oh well!

Day two attempt at naptime…

IMG_1634_edited-1

only Mark was successful.

I'm just guessing that Tia was teaching Mia to think about what she eats. Don't worry Amelia, those grapes are organic!

IMG_1648_edited-1IMG_1651_edited-2

Lily was due to start solids and what better place than out in the wilderness. She wasn't a fan!
