Our little girl is not so little anymore...she's sleeping in a (little) big girl bed!
We've been talking through our options for the arrival of Bean...get another crib but then for two weeks I can't lift Mia for nap or bed time, get a twin bed but the room is too small for all that furniture, get another crib and use Mia's crib as a toddler bed but that seemed like a waste to have two cribs and two crib mattresses. So our thoughts snowballed (like they always do when I get thinking), and we are playing switcharoo with the bedrooms. Then taking the beautiful antique twin bed at my mom's house for Mia and Bean will get the crib. However, we wanted to make the move gradually. After two weeks of finding Mia in about the same spot in her crib in the morning (meaning she's done doing laps in her sleep), we made the first step and took off the rails on her crib. SHE LOVES IT! On Sunday night we let her play for almost an hour. She would say "night night" then crawl in and lay down. Thirty seconds later she would pop up and say "goo morning". We were both dying of laughter as this cycle repeated at least 20 times. Check out the video of her routine!
Just adding to Mia growing up, she has started taking her pajamas off before we get to her in the morning. This was the first morning I found her with the zipper undone. When I asked Mia what happened to her jammies, she acted like she had no clue what I meant and started telling me all about the "elfants" that slept with her. Too bad she didn't get in this habit in the summer when it was warm. Hopefully she will learn that pajamas are a good thing after a few cold nights.
Mia understands that there is a baby "hiding" in my belly. She loves to crawl up with me on the couch to say hi to Bean. She'll lift up my shirt and wave then give my belly a kiss as she tells Bean, "love you!"
And just because Mia is so darn cute!
